When arriving at Elounda, the first view from the hilltop is a panorama of the Bay of Mirabello, where the foreground is dominated by the Porto Elounda Golf & Spa Resort and the green expanse of its golf course. Designed with respect to architectural tradition, this unique resortis an oasis of recreation. The sea view from the lobby is stunning and some refreshments at the "Kirki" bar below, with its delightful terraces, is the perfect starting point for any day, as breakfast and dinner are served next door at the ‘Nafsika’ restaurant’s sumptuous buffet. A short walk down to the beach, through the golf course, reaches the Beach Bar, next to the seaside pool and always in a swinging mood with drinks and snacks throughout the day. Around the corner is "Playiada", a Greek village square covered by a robust wooden pergola and hostinga variety of boutiques, including a jeweller’s, fashion apparel, kids’ and beach wear, a souvenir shop and, last but not least, the lovely Greek Orthodox Chapel of Prophet Elias. Beautifully appointed in a traditional Cretan square within the hotel premises. Inside, the sanctuary is transparent and the holy icons are floating in front of the altar. The ceiling is painted by the famous Greek artist Alekos Fasianos, creating a unique artistic atmosphere. Named after the ingenious seafarer of Homer’s Odyssey, this seaside restaurant is a beautiful choice for enjoying a family lunch next to the swimming fish! The menu selection honors traditional Greek favorites and caters well for children. The Aglio-e-Olio restaurant's splendid Italian cuisine is served al fresco under the grey-green leaves of an old olive grove that's next to the beach of the porto elounda Golf & Spa Resort.
