Rhodos Royal is set at the far end of Kallithea, a gorgeous sand coast that more than lives up to the literal translation of its name, “beautiful view.” A circular ceiling mural creates the feeling of an airy rotunda while soft yellow tones subtly suggest the golden says of Rhodes’ s glorious sun. Hardwood floors are highlighted by hand-finished lounge tables and high-backed armchairs arranged around comfy sofas to create small, intimate seating areas. A feeling of expansiveness pervades the grounds, from the open garden accented with palms, olive trees, and flowering hibiscus bushes whose conical blossoms are featured on the coins of ancient Rhodes. The main building and two wings form a loos L-shape overlooking the grounds and two swimming pools. The resort’s architectural showpiece is the heated indoor pool covered with a pyramid-shaped glass roof that creates the illusion of open-air swimming.
